Freshman Focus is designed to provide students with a positive transitional experience from middle school to high school. The class also puts emphasis on making their future MVHS diploma personal and meaningful.
Freshman Focus will improve the students' awareness of the self and the opportunities for success in a Career Pathway area.

7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens will be used to guide students.
Homework, Quizzes, Tests, Group Projects

You will have homework periodically. It will consist of workbooking, taking notes, defining vocabulary, and answering questions.

Quizzes will be given over readings or discussions about the topics. All quizzes will be averaged as a test grade (some will be unannounced).

Tests will be announced ahead of time. Your test grades make up one-third of your final grade.

Assignments make up one-third of your final grade.

Effort and behavior make up the final one-third of your grade.

Group projects will be assigned. One class period will be given to organize your group. If any outside work is required, your group leader will assign it. A group grade and an individual grade are given.
